African Market Baskets™ are strong, durable, colorful and entirely hand-made. Each basket is unique and beautiful. These baskets are made from river grass, known as “elephant grass” by local weavers in Bolgatanga, Ghana.
Baskets with leather handles are wrapped in goat skin for comfort and durability. The leather is naturally tanned using local seeds and red millet.
Proceeds from the sale of these baskets help to provide healthcare, education and financial support to over 5,000 African weavers and their families.
Large Round: A nice deep basket with a single leather handle in the center. Great for all kinds of storage. Each baskets has unique colors and patterns.

Medium Round: This basket is slightly smaller than the Large Round baskets. The variegated nature of the fibers adds unique beauty to each basket. Each basket comes with a leather handle. Leather color may vary.

Mini: A mini version of our Large Round basket with single leather handle. The perfect gift basket. Can be filled with fun items such as chocolate, tea, soap or lotion. Leather color may vary.

Pot-Shaped: A nice deep basket that will hold all kinds of things and has a leather handle. Can also be a wonderful art piece for your home. Each pot basket has a unique and colorful woven design.
